Ski Helmets

For those of us who skiied as children in the 60's, 70's, 80's or earlier,
seeing someone on the slopes with a helmet was a rarity, unless you
were watching ski jumping or competitive racing. Today, however, with
an increased awareness on safety and several visible accidents showing
just how quickly a severe head injury can occur, helmets are becoming
commonplace, especially for children.

As with any ski product, fit and sizing is critical for safety when it
comes to helmets. Be sure that whatever products you may purchase
or rent are the correct size for the skier.

We worked with the National Ski Areas Association's (NSAA) Lids on
Kids
campaign to provide our readers with an overview of helmet
buying, usage, and FAQ's.
